How to dress like a Tardis (without looking boxy)

So you want to express your Doctor Who fandom via the medium of clothing. Fair enough. You don’t have to look too far to find some stellar examples of Whovian cosplay.

But let’s face it, dressing up in full Gallifreyan Timelord gear simply isn’t practical every day. Sure, it’s cool at events like Armageddon Expo, but sometimes it’s good to tone it down a bit for the office (fezzes may be cool but they might not be appropriate for a staff meeting). And wearing a cool t-shirt for your favourite show is okay but it’s a bit, well, obvious. Not to mention easy. If only you could put together an outfit that is inspired by Doctor Who (or any character, for that matter) but which flies under the radar except for those who share you interests and have a keen eye.

Well, you can! Inspired by the fashion efforts of Disney fans at the Disneybound Tumblr, I have put together a series of Doctor Who-esque outfits. All the pieces are available for sale in New Zealand or at places that ship here. So grab your credit card and “Allons-y”!
